It’s been a little over a month since we announced our plans to start a CSA program for Indiana and distributed our informal survey. Now it’s time to announce the results! We compiled the data into a series of charts, so take a look and see how Indiana residents and students feel about having a CSA in our county. We learned a lot from our respondents so far, including the fact that there’s an active CSA pick-up location in Indiana right now!
The Center plans to work with our existing CSA to spread the word about its services, and to talk with farmers about getting involved in the program already operating in our area. If you are still interested in sharing your opinions about having a CSA, feel free to take the survey and submit your responses, or send us an e-mail using our suggestions and feedback page.
In our survey, we asked our respondents three questions:
- Would you be interested in being part of a local CSA that has a drop-off location in Indiana and uses Indiana area farmers?
- What would you be interested in receiving in your CSA?
- Would you be interested in being part of a planning team that starts up a CSA?
Answers were multiple-choice. The survey was available online, and paper versions were handed out in-person at our screening of Triple Divide last month. These charts include responses gathered over a period of 3 weeks, from March 28th, 2013, through April 18th, 2013.
Question 1: Would you be interested in being part of a local CSA that has a drop-off location in Indiana and uses Indiana area farmers?
Question 2: What would you be interested in receiving in your CSA?*
Thanks again to to everyone who took our survey! Updates about the next step for the Indiana CSA will be posted soon!
*There is a greater number of responses shown in our chart for question 2 than there are number of surveys received. This is due to the fact that most of the people who took our paper survey selected more than one answer in response to question 2. When we compiled the results for the chart, we tallied the total number of each response type received for this question.
