The GMO Action Network is a group founded by our steering committee member Tina Palmer that raises awareness about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to the members of Indiana County. Founded in May 2013, this organization participates in both local and national activism. Members of The GMO Action Network participated in a local protest that kicked off The Action Network’s activism in May 2013. Additionally, on the 4th of July, members of The Center and The GMO Action Network handed out information about genetically modified organisms to the people celebrating the holiday at Mack Park. Here at The Center, we love to support up and coming progressive organizations, and we can’t wait to see that The GMO Action Network plans to do next!
