This year the Center for Community Growth hosted a film series with a focus on the economy and its effect on other social justice issues. Each film examined how current economic issues entwine with social, political, and environmental problems afflicting our communities today.
Screenings took place on the last Friday of each month, starting in February and ending in late July. At each film screening a discussion was held to examine the implications of the movie and to provide information on how viewers could get involved in Indiana. There was also a chance to meet some of the local organizations from around the area.
The film series is part of The Center’s larger goal to support discussion and action among community members and organizations towards strengthening the wellbeing of Indiana and its residents.
It is our hope that this series will serve as an important first step towards bettering the quality of life of Indiana residents by encouraging discussion, engagement, and collaboration among individuals and community groups to find solutions to the problems facing our community today.
